Twilight at Taronga Summer Concert Drop 2020 Lineup

October 31, 2019

One of our favourite times of the year, Twilight at Taronga has arrived again shining a spotlight on great Australian talent with the backdrop of unique Australian wildlife. Sydney’s much-beloved Twilight at Taronga concert series will be taking the zoo by storm for another season and combining the best parts of summer together in a glorious night: good tunes, beautiful sunsets on the harbour, and your closest cassowary friends.

Who can we expect on the line up this year? Our top pick is Broods, a gorgeous brother-sister duo from our neighbour country New Zealand. Hot off their third album release this year, Don’t Feed the Pop Monster, you’ll be shaking your peach to all their hottest hits. Catch them on the 31st of January.

Another top act you won’t want to miss is Meg Mac on the 6th of March. Fresh off the heels of her second album Hope, her breakout single ‘Give Me My Name Back’ has transformed into a rally cry for her fans.

“It’s a song for those who have suffered emotional and physical abuse; it’s for the women who are standing up and speaking out, those discriminated against in the LGBTQI community, the indigenous people of Australia and the children abused by the church.” Meg explains, “for everyone who has lost an important part of themselves and need to reclaim their identity, dignity and self-worth in order to move forward with their lives.”

If these quality acts aren’t cutting the mustard, foolproof live act Paul Kelly is playing on the 28th of February. He’ll be bringing his show ‘Thirteen Ways To Look At Birds’ to Taronga, including a collaboration with six other musicians from diverse backgrounds. His performance is designed to encourage the protection of endangered birdlife – a perfect pairing to the animal soundscape he’ll be playing with at Taronga.
