Must-See Music Acts for June

June 4, 2018

Now that winter is officially upon us, it’s time to start planning some warmer, indoor activities. And what better or warmer indoor activity is there than dancing around with your mates to your fav artist live? Nothing, there is nothing better. That is why we’ve pulled together a handy guide of the top gigs for the month of June. Things may be getting colder, but they’ll be sure as hell heating up the below venues. Check ‘em out and let us know who you’re dying to see.

St. Vincent

Grammy-award artist, St. Vincent is heading to our shores for a one-off-you-are-not-going-to-want-to-miss-this gig in Sydney as part of the Vivid LIVE line-up. Her body of work to date is impressive to say the least, with her latest offering, Masseduction, playing upon the themes of humanity and connection. Yep, pretty deep stuff. The Sydney gig will be her only, so grab some mates and make a road trip out of it – we’ve got some sweet Sydney accommodation for you.

The Presets

Hot on the heels of releasing their first album in over six years, The Presets are heading back on the road to tour HI VIZ. The album is jam-packed with dirty, warehouse electronica that is sure to translate into one hell of a party when blasted out live. We’re hoping the duo will pay homage to some of their classic tracks, too, including bangers like ‘My People’ and ‘Talk Like That’. Ah yes, we can taste the nostalgia now.

Whilst we’re on the topic of nostalgia, iconic Aussie rockers, Jet, will also be bringing those throwback vibes across the country this month for their ‘Get Re-born’ tour. Fifteen years after its release (don’t worry, we feel old too), the boys will be playing Get Born in its entirety. This is a chance to relive your youthful rock fantasies as you mosh to bangers like ‘Are You Gonna Me My Girl’ and ‘Look What You’ve Done’. Need we say more?

This year is shaping up to be the biggest yet, with electronic queen Alison Wonderland set to headline following the release of her sophomore album, as well as being the highest billed female DJ on a Coachella line-up EVER. Nicole Millar

Nicole Millar made a name for herself as the ethereal vocals on Peking Duk’s huge track, ‘High’. Nicole hasn’t taken her foot off the pedal since, dropping massive tracks of her own over the past few years, culminating in the release of her debut record, Excuse Me. Dropped mere days ago, the album is packed full of fun, danceable tunes, such as ‘Signals’, ‘Tremble’ and ‘Blindfolded’. Give the album a rotation and check out Nicole’s local tour dates below:
