ibis PLAY Review: Panic! At The Disco

October 9, 2018

If there’s one word to describe Panic! At The Disco, it’s energetic. Front man Brendan Urie, backed by his epic band, brought a thunderous energy to Qudos Bank Arena on Saturday night for the opening show of their ‘Pray For The Wicked’ tour down under.

Opening with ‘Silver Lining’, Panic! quickly burned through a bunch of their old-school tracks, collectively releasing the crowd’s inner emo. Throwback choons like ‘Nine In The Afternoon’ and ‘I Write Sins Not Tragedies’ were clear favourites, along with more recent tracks ‘The Emperors New Clothes’ and ‘Ready To Go’.

Ready to go is an understatement…Panic! were ready and rearing. There was no doubt that the main attraction of the night was Brendan. From soaring vocals, to rocking on guitar and slaying on the piano, there wasn’t much the only OG member of the band couldn’t do.
